The essence
of the 12 Inner Human Rights

The right to

01

Live the good life

“The right to live the good life” is founded upon the fundamental ethical conviction that we must consider all forms of life on our planet – a perspective that extends beyond personal interests and needs. Life is the interconnected whole, where every form of life is interwoven within a complex network of relationships and influences.

This right is about recognizing and acknowledging that our actions have consequences that extend beyond our immediate surroundings and our own generation.

02

Find meaning

We have the right to pursue and engage in our personal life projects – whether they are grand or modest – because it is precisely these projects that provide depth, energy, and a sense of flow to our lives.

We have the right to pursue and engage in our personal life projects – whether they are grand or modest – because it is precisely these projects that provide depth, energy, and a sense of flow to our lives.

Meaning and purpose act as the anchors that ground both individuals and organizations. When our lives have a purpose and a direction, we feel connected to a deeper significance that transcends momentary pleasures. Similarly, organizations operating with a clear purpose are capable of rallying their people around a shared vision and achieving remarkable outcomes.”

03

Be fully human

In this regenerative state, we depart from the either/or paradigm and instead embrace a both/and perspective, fostering the integration and harmonious synergy of all dimensions. Within this regenerative flow, our awareness sharpens, our self-awareness deepens, and our capacity to authentically comprehend both ourselves and others thrives.

This right is not just about allowing ourselves to exist in all three dimensions, but about creating a synergistic connection among them.

04

Be (in) nature

Having the right to be in nature entails not only physical presence but also a spiritual and emotional connection to our roots. It guides us in caring for and protecting the nature around us and within us. Nature helps us sharpen our senses and find balance between rest, slowness, recovery, action, change, and growth. Our modern lifestyle often pulls us away from this natural rhythm. Nature brings balance and depth to our lives.

Right 04 highlights that our relationship with nature is not just about exploiting its resources but also about appreciating its beauty, complexity, and magic. It is a call to protect and preserve nature for both current and future generations and to find our place as members of a larger ecosystem.

05

Be an important part of a community

This right aims to create a world where equity is paramount, and where no one is more or less significant than others. It supports us in forming communities based on a profound understanding of our mutual interdependence. We are intricately woven into each other’s lives in complex ways, and our actions and decisions have a profound impact on our fellow human beings. By recognizing our interconnectedness, we can build stronger and more humane societies.

Being an important part of a community also entails responsibility. We are responsible for strengthening our communities through positive interaction, support, and compassion.

06

Be forgiven

These traumas are profound and leave deep scars in our souls, making it challenging to muster the strength required to embrace the word “forgiveness” with credibility.

The purpose of right 06 is to deeply feel empathy and vulnerability that goes beyond mere forgiveness. It reminds us that there are situations where forgiveness may be out of reach, but it doesn’t mean we cannot find a path to healing. Empathy and vulnerability allow us to connect with our own and others’ pain. As we approach  irreconcilable parts of life with deep empathy and vulnerability, we acknowledge the complexity of our emotions.

Right 06 encourages us to embrace our imperfections and acknowledge that we are all on a journey through life, filled with flaws and mistakes. Daring to exist in imperfection gives us the freedom to grow, learn, and evolve. It is an invitation to find a way to live without letting resentment and pain dominate our lives, thereby opening the door to embracing the full diversity of life with all that it entails.

07

Be treated with decency

In an organizational context, the concept of “decency” includes the company’s social responsibility. It underlines the importance of respecting the rights and dignity of all, considering their well-being and ensuring that their rights are upheld.

Decency is closely linked to our fundamental sense of safety and security. Our secure base, which forms the foundation for Right 10 – the right to be oneself, is built on our ability to feel valued and respected, both by ourselves and by others. It is a mutual relationship where respect for the right of others to be themselves also nurtures our ability to express our true selves. This right encourages us to acknowledge the value of treating everyone with respect, dignity, and humanity.

08

Say no

When our boundaries are respected, a sense of security emerges. It becomes legitimate for us to express our needs. The ability to define our boundaries is crucial for our capacity to establish authentic connections with others. When we can establish healthy boundaries, our relationships are based on honesty. We can free ourselves from the defensive barriers that often absorb an overwhelming amount of our energy. Instead, a sense of acceptance and harmony arises in our relationships.

Right 08 also extends to our relationship with ourselves. Whether it involves understanding our mental and emotional boundaries or physical capacities, the ability to define and respect these boundaries is crucial. When we are in touch with our boundaries, it is possible to achieve a deeper sense of inner peace and harmony.

The recognition of our right to say no and healthy boundary setting creates a foundation of trust and security, both in our relationships with others and in our relationship with ourselves. It contributes to honest communication, authenticity, and a more balanced approach to life.

09

Speak your truth

Our creative self-expression is a form of personal signature. When we unfold our creativity, we reveal layers of our inner world that might otherwise remain hidden. Through our creative activities, whether it’s writing a short story, painting a picture, singing a song, or exploring new places, we showcase aspects of our thoughts, feelings, and perspectives.

Some people are natural writers who express themselves through words, while others speak directly from the heart. Some let colors dance on the canvas, while others let music express their soul. We can also find creativity in science, technology, entrepreneurship, and every corner of life. This right encourages us to embrace our unique ways of expressing ourselves and create an authentic mosaic of creativity that enriches our world.

10

Be you

The world needs this genius because it enriches our collective experience and drives progress.

This right is about embracing our unique potential without fear or doubt. It’s about breaking free from expectations and prejudices and instead embracing ourselves with pride.

At the same time, this right is also a call to acknowledge that each one of us is an important piece of the larger puzzle – our society and the world as a whole. Together, we all make up part of the living fabric of a community, and our unique contributions help complete the whole.

11

Immersion

Through immersion, we create a space where we can allow ourselves to linger on the details, explore nuances, and discover hidden treasures of insight and understanding. It is also where we have the opportunity to break free from unhelpful patterns that might otherwise disrupt our natural flow. In this space of immersion, we are present. Here, we have the chance to slow down and truly feel the deep emotions that often remain hidden beneath the surface. We can feel the warmth of gratitude flowing through us, care spreading like a soothing wave, and tranquility spreading like a gentle breeze. It is here that our energy reserves are replenished, and we can find nourishment in inner silence.

The right to immersion is about respecting our inner and outer time and space.

12

Lifelong learning

Learning is the transformative process that accompanies us on this journey throughout our entire lives. It is a process that shapes our mindset, perspectives, and our ability to engage with the world in meaningful ways. Through learning, we acquire not only facts and information but also understanding of the deeper meaning behind our experiences. The process of learning is not limited to formal educational institutions or specific stages of life. It occurs throughout our existence and through the changes that we engage in with curiosity and openness. It can be in the moment when we study nature’s patterns with fascination, when we immerse ourselves in a good book, or when we explore new ideas and perspectives through philosophy and art.

This right reminds us that we are not just passive recipients of knowledge but active creators of our own insight.
